Baseer Khan takes stock of COVID-19 mitigation measures in Tangmarg

Baramulla, Jun 2: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Baseer Ahmad Khan Wednesday visited Tangmarg area of Baramulla district where he took stock of COVID-19 mitigation measures.
During his visit, he inspected recently established COVID Care Centres at Panchayat level in order to assess the status of medical infrastructure and arrangements in these centres wherein he directed to ensure that all the necessary medicare facilities are provided in a hassle free manner. He said that 5-bedded CCCs have been established on the directions of Lieutenant Governor in every Panchayat with an aim to strengthen the health infrastructure in rural areas amid the 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Advisor, later, met various stakeholders comprising of PRIs, transporters, traders, religious heads among other prominent representatives of the society, to discuss various means and measures for effective Covid control at grassroot level.
On the occasion, the concerned stakeholders apprised the Advisor about the issues being faced by them during the ongoing pandemic. The Advisor gave a patient hearing and assured them to redress the genuine grievances in a time bound manner.
Baseer Khan lauded the cooperation of various stakeholders which made it possible to ease the restrictions and urged active participation of every citizen vital for the total eradication of the pandemic. He stressed upon them to motivate people to follow covid guidelines for the good of entire society.
While interacting with the Hoteliers of Gulmarg represented by the President Hoteliers association, the Advisor emphasised on following the Covid-19 protocol and the SOPs in letter and spirit.
The Advisor announced that a fully functional oxygen plant shall be started in Tangmarg very soon which will help in combating the challenge of the Covid crisis.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar briefed the Advisor about various initiatives that were taken by the district administration in order to control the spread of the pandemic. He also informed the Advisor about the current status and position of COVID-19 and gave a brief description of positivity and recovery rates in the district.
Director Rural Development Department Kashmir Tariq Ahmad Zargar, SSP Baramulla Rayees Ahmad Bhat, SDM Gulmarg Sameer Jan, heads of various departments, district and sectoral officers among other concerned functionaries were present on the occasion.
