Srinagar, Jan 9: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Vikar Rasool Wani on Monday said that a ten-day yatra—Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY), will be a grand success event in the Union Territory as the massive arrangements have been made in this regard here while as all the like-minded parties and civil societies will be the part of it.
Talking to the media men, Wani, said that the BJY will be a ten-day event in J&K while 4-5 days march will be in Kashmir only and the major event will be in Srinagar on 30th January in which All India Congress Committee (AICC) leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, chief ministers, Members of Parliament, General Secretaries and others will participate.
“The culmination of the world’s biggest yatra will be in Srinagar on January 29 and 30. After marching 3500 kilometers, Rahul Gandhi will make his last speech in Srinagar on January 30th,” Wani said, adding that the massive arrangements have been made to make the event a grand success in Jammu and Kashmir.
He further stated that Bharat Jodo Yatra has three motives—unemployment, price hike on essentials and hatred being spread by Bharatiya Janata Party for political gains.
Wani said that the unemployment rate has swallowed while Jammu & Kashmir is on number one in terms of unemployment while the price hike on essentials and other related things have been aimed at pushing the people to the wall as the rich people during the present regime have become richest while poor have become poorer.
He also said that the BJP is spreading hatred on communal issues and other religious matters for political benefits. “We have added a fourth motive for the yatra in Jammu & Kashmir, which is the restoration of Statehood and the conduct of assembly elections,” he said.
The people joining the party, is an indication that the BJY will be a grand success event in Jammu & Kashmir, he said and appealed to the people, especially the youth to participate in the event.
“Bharat Jodo Yatra will have a great impact in J&K like other parts of the country as every sector here has been suffering badly while the unemployed youth are being pushed to the wall. We have like-minded parties with us, who are extending their support to the BJY, Civil Societies, and other parties are also welcomed, but those, who are A, B and C teams of the BJP will not be allowed to be part of the event,” he added.
“BJY is the biggest-ever yatra across the globe. I don’t think anyone has marched 3500 kilometers so far anywhere,” he said.
