Coronavirus: 20 inmates recover, positivity declines to 64 at Distt jail Kupwara

Kupwara, Jun 3: In a major relief, a total of 20 jail inmates lodged at District Jail Kupwara in north Kashmir have recovered from the Virus of taking the active positive cases to 64 only.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District Jail Kupwara Shahbaz Hussain said that all the positive patients are normal and handsome number has recovered from the virus while all of them will undergo retest on 12th June in the ensuing month.
He said that that of the total positive cases only a single patient who required oxygen support was shifted to the Covid facility while all others have a normal health condition.
Nodal officer for Covid-19 in district Kupwara Ghulam Nabi Sheikh said that a total of 20 patients have recovered from the virus and the graph of activates have cases has come down to 64 only.
He said that one of the patients has been shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara but the said patient is maintaining well
All the positive patients will undergo a Covid retest in the next 10-12 days, he informed.
Notably, a total of 84 jail inmates at district jail Kupwara had tested positive for Covid-19 of which 20 had tested positive earlier while 64 tested positive after mass testing of around 157 individuals were conducted by the authorities.
The officials had maintained that sufficient facilities required for the positive patients including the oxygen and beds for isolation have been ensured within the district jail.
