Srinagar, Jun 4: The School Education Department on Friday directed all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Kashmir division to implement the newly issued guidelines of virtual classes in all government and private schools.
According to the orders of Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), “The principal secretary to government for School Education Department has said that the CEOs of Kashmir division shall ensure that the newly issued guidelines on virtual classes are strictly adhered by the concerned authorities and all Head of Institutions (HoIs) of all government and private schools.”
It also reads, “The administrative department has also sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) that shall be submitted on a weekly basis.
Earlier on June-1, the government said that the virtual classes for Pre-Primary and Primary classes shall not exceed the time limit of 30 minutes and 90 minutes a day.
In this regard, the guidelines were issued a day after Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha directed the School Education Department to frame new virtual classes guidelines for minor students.
According to the new guidelines for the Pre-Primary students, the School Education Department has set the cap of 30 minutes a day to conduct the virtual classes.
Similarly for the students upto 8th standard, the government has said, “Online synchronous learning may be undertaken for not more than two sessions of 30-45 minutes each on the working days.”
