Ganderbal, March 6: BJP District President Ganderbal Mohammad Amin Shah visited Guzhama village located in the outskirts of the district situated on the banks of the river Jehlum. The village is far from the main town Ganderbal and due to distance the village has been always neglected.
While interacting with locals Mohammad Amin Shah was told that they are suffering and there is hardly any attention paid to them by the administration. Locals also pointed out that their long pending demand for a bridge which connects them with several other villages on the other side of Jhelum is still under construction despite missing its deadline.
The villagers also demanded construction of a bridge between the graveyard in old side of the village and the residents living on the new village connected to Bandipora highway. Villagers said they have to cross in boats for burials which is sometimes very dangerous. The road is in bad shape and no new black topping of the road has been done recently which is causing a serious problem to travellers. The villagers also demanded a ration depot or fair shop in the village as they have travel more than two kilometres for ration.
Mohammad Amin Shah assured the locals that the problems raised by them will be raised with district administration. In this connection he will meet deputy commissioner and roads and buildings officers soon.
