Budgam, Mar 15: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Budgam organised “Knowledge Competition Poster making, Painting & Slogan writing” on the theme, “Catch the Rain-2023” at Oxford Institute in village, Budgam. The campaign with tagline “Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls” was initiated by National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, to nudge the States and stake-holders to create appropriate Rain Water Harvesting Structures (RWHS) suitable to the climatic conditions and sub-soil strata before monsoon.
The programme began with a keynote address from Youth Clubs and National Youth Volunteer (NYV) Youngsters and students from varying groups of ages participated in the competitions with great enthusiasm. As part of the event, the participants, public and executives of Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandels also took the water pledge.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed Youth Clubs
Nehru Yuva Kendra Budgam District Youth Officer, also took part in the programme as a resource person.
