Sopore, Apr 6: Damaged wooden electricity poles and hanging high tension wires at Hardushiva village of Sopore are posing a threat to the lives of people with locals demanding its replacement to avoid any mishap.
Inhabitants of Rather Mohalla and adjacent localities of Hardushiva alleged that they are living under constant fear due to low lying electric wires tied with trees and decaying electric poles. .
Jahangir Ahmed said they have been demanding the power department to replace the wooden poles to no avail.
Officials at Power Development Department (PDD), division Sopore said that they don’t have funds. “PRI has authority to disburse the amount. Our job is to provide the poles and wires,” he added.
