Bandipora, Apr 7: Education sector is worst hit in Bandipora with shortage of lectures in higher secondary schools affecting students.
According to details available, only 192 out of 312 lecturers are working in Bandipora zone. In Gurez, of 85 posts, 37 are vacant.
Locals said lack of teachers is not just limited to a few schools but the shortage has hit schools across the district.
“Science and mathematics departments are particularly affected as students require personalized attention and guidance in these subjects,” Abdul Majeed, a local, said.
Chief Education Officer Bandipora Abdul Majeed Malik said the that the department is working to fill the vacant posts and alternative arrangements have been made in the meantime. (KNO)
