Poonch, May 11: An army man deployed along Line of Control (LoC) died after receiving a gunshot injury in Poonch on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Jasbir Singh, who was serving at a forward location on Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector under Mendhar sub division in Poonch district.
Officials said that the army personnel received gunshot injury and later succumbed to his injuries following which his body was taken into a possession by Army teams and was later shifted to civil hospital for post mortem examination.
Police said to have started investigation into the matter while prima facie accidental gun fire from deceased’s service weapon is being assumed as the cause of incident.
