Srinagar, May 25: Five tourist passengers were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident on Srinagar-Jammu national highway near Awantipora on Thursday evening.
An official said that a Tempo vehicle bearing registration number JK06-4922 turned turtle near Barsoo area of Awantipora on National Highway, resulting in injuries to five tourists.
Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the tourists, who were trapped in the vehicle when it turned turtle, he added.
The injured passengers were shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore where from they were referred to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
