Bandipora, May 31: Students of Government Primary School in Checkpora Hamlet of Aragam in Bandipora district Wednesday complained about shortage of teachers.
The students said that the school, which caters to more than 70 students, is grappling with a significant deficit of teachers.
They revealed that only two teachers are available to handle their educational needs, a meagre number given the considerable student population. “Only one teacher holds a permanent position while the other is deployed temporarily,” they said.
Parents have also voiced their grievances, urging the district education authorities to swiftly address the issue. “Quality education is a fundamental right for every child and I insist that the government take immediate action to resolve the dearth of teachers in the school,” said Abdul Hameed, a parent.
An official said they will address the issue soon.
