Coronavirus: JK logs 635 positive cases, 12 deaths

Srinagar, Jun 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Wednesday witnessed 12 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 635 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 11,381
With 12 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,217 and 635 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 309,361
Of the exact number of 309,361 cases, 191,797 are from Kashmir division and 117,564 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 635 new cases, 442 belong to Kashmir division while as 193 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 191,797 including 182,442 recoveries and 2,164 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 117,564 including 111,321 recoveries and 2,053 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 11,381 including 7,191 from Kashmir division and 4,190 from Jammu division.
With 1,649 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 293,763 which is 94.95 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 129 from Srinagar, 64 from Baramulla, 76 from Budgam, 27 from Pulwama, 26 from Kupwara, 49 from Anantnag, 23 from Bandipora, 17 from Ganderbal, 23 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 193 from Jammu division include 54 from Jammu, 22 from Udhampur, 19 from Rajouri, 32 from Doda, 16 from Kathua, 03 from Samba, 09 from Kishtwar, 14 from Poonch, 24 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed
Meanwhile, authorities on Wednesday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and toll of total cases of Mucormycosis stands at 21.
Out of 12 deaths reported today, 02 died in GMC Doda, 01 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in GMC Jammu, 02 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in DH Pulwama, 02 in SMHS Srinagar, 01 in GMC Anantnag, 01 in DH Ganderbal & 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina.
As per officials figures, 68,650 positive cases including 815 deaths and 66,051 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,845 including 274 deaths and 21,658 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,028 including 20,976 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Budgam, 14,536 including 13,257 recoveries and 184 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,415 including 156 deaths and 12,557 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,640 including 14,834 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,058 cases including 8,623 and 98 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,336 including 8,934 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,773 including 1,0228 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,516 including 5,324 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,101 including 49,674 recoveries and 1,118 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,036 including 10,701 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,475 including 9,915 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,467 including 5,556 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Doda, 9,101 including 8,851 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,011 including 6,701 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,280 including 4,103 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,906 including 5,209 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Poonch, 5,652 including 5,254 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Ramban and 5,535 including 5,357 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,267,717 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 51,193 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 11,381 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,030,642 persons have completed surveillance period and 170,284 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,304,004 samples are available. Out of 9,304,004 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,994,643 while as 309,361 have tested positive, among them 11,381 persons are active, 293,763 persons have recovered and 4,217 persons have died.
