Srinagar, Jul 8: In a bid to maintain public safety, Police in Baramulla on Saturday cracked whip on stunt bikers, triple riders, violators and booked 17 persons involved in such acts.
A police party of Police Station Sheeri led by SHO PS Sheeri, seized 17 two-wheelers and booked 17 persons who were involved in stunt biking/ triple riding in Sheeri Baramulla, a police spokesman said in a statement.
Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been taken up.
“Police has been closely monitoring the increasing instances of stunt biking in various areas. These dangerous activities not only pose a significant threat to the lives of the bikers themselves but also endanger the lives of innocent bystanders and motorists on the roads. Police considers this behaviour a serious violation of traffic laws and a major public safety concern,” police said.
Police urged the public to report any instances of reckless stunt biking or other traffic violations to the authorities. The cooperation of the community is essential in maintaining road safety and ensuring a secure environment for all residents, police said.
