Budgam, Jul 27: The Department of Agriculture District Budgam made elaborate arrangements for live telecast of release of 14th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi event by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at KVK Budgam, besides at Block and Zonal Agriculture Offices.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Akaramullah Tak along with Chief Agriculture Officer, Syed Tafazal Hussain, Head KVK Dr. Bilal, and District Agriculture Officer (Ext.) Budgam, officers and officials of Agriculture and KVK, besides as many as 100 farmers of Budgam block attended the live telecast programme at KVK Budgam.
Interacting with the farmers, the ADDC informed that 66000 beneficiaries (farmers) of the district have been provided Rs 2000 through DBT mode under the 14th instalment of PM Kisan.
Farmers hailed the message of the Prime Minister for promoting agri start-ups and pro-farmers initiatives.
During the webcast Prime Minister also launched Urea Gold – a new variety of Urea that is coated with Sulphur. The introduction of Sulphur Coated Urea will address sulphur deficiencies in the soil. This innovative fertiliser is more economical and efficient than neem-coated urea, improves nitrogen use efficiency in plants, reduces consumption of fertiliser, and enhances crop quality. During the programme, Prime Minister launched the onboarding of 1500 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). ONDC empowers FPOS with direct access to digital marketing, online payment, Business-to-business (B2B) and Business-to-consumer transactions, and encourages local value addition, catalysing growth of logistics in rural areas.
In a step that will showcase yet another example of commitment of the Prime Minister towards welfare of farmers, the 14th instalment amount of about Rs. 17,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), will be released through direct benefits transfer to more than 8.5 crore beneficiaries. The webcast of the event was telecasted on screen at each zonal office and District Head quarter Budgam in which farmers including PM Kisan Beneficiaries, Agriculture Officials, and PRI’s of concerned panchayat Halqa participated. It is worthwhile to mention here that more than 65000 farmers have completed the e-kyc, land seeding, and NCPI will benefit with Rs. 2000 in coming days under the Scheme. It is as such requested to PM KISAN beneficiaries to visit the nearest Agriculture Office for any query.
Similarly, live telecast events were arranged at the block, Zonal and Panchayat level by officers and officials of the Agriculture Department District Budgam for the farmers where large numbers of farmers participated.
