Srinagar, Aug 2: The residents of Mehjoor Nagar, Padshahi Bagh, and Ram Bagh have demanded the macadamization of the road from the right side of the bund. They said a few days back one part of the bund was macadamized while the left part was left untouched.
“We had hoped that the left part of the road will also be macadamized as it witnesses huge rush of vehicles, but to our surprise, it was not taken care of,” locals said, adding that the road which connects multiple areas is completely in shambles.
The locals said this roads was macadamized around eight years ago. “No attention had been paid to this road despite being of vital importance. Drivers find it very difficult to ply on this road,” they said.
They appealed to authorities to look into the matter at the earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, the footbridge connecting Mehjoor Nagar with Jawahar Nagar that was inaugurated with pomp and show has missed the deadline as the work on the said bridge was stopped for a long time due to the reasons known to Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
