Poonch, Aug 3: As the government is claiming to have improved the education system and provided all facilities for students in government schools, but these claims are contrary to the situation at ground level. One such example is Govt Primary School Sangla building in Zone Surnakote which is in deplorable condition. However, the concerned authorities remained unmoved to get the building repaired thus putting the lives of the students at stake.
After heavy rainfall, the building of the school suffered damages and till today no repair work has been initiated by the concerned authorities.
The parents of the students studying in this school approached concerned authorities several times to get the building of the school repaired, but nothing has been done till today.
“Due to deplorable condition of the school building, there is fear fiasco among the students”, the parents alleged.
“Due to the carelessness of the Zonal Education Officer, education of about 70 students is being affected but unfortunately, no significant steps have been taken by the administration so far,” they alleged.
“There are few rooms in the school building and all are in dilapidated condition. We think that the authorities are waiting for any misadventure to take place”, the parents added.
The sarpanch Upper Sangla Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and parents of the students took up the school building repair issue with the concerned authorities of the Education Department, but nothing has been done till today.
“We have apprehensions that something wrong will happen in the time to come if school building is not repaired at the earliest”, the sarpanch said.
Villagers of the area also expressed their anger over it and said that demand for improvement in school condition has been put forth before political representatives dozens of times but no one paid any heed making the students suffer on a daily basis.
“Are we are not seeking anything extra ? We are just demanding a good school for our children but unfortunately no one is paying any heed,” they said.
The villagers including parents have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned authorities to repairing the school building at earliest.
