Srinagar, Aug 14: In a significant achievement, the J&K government is working to make the innovative Scan & Share Queue Management System available in every district hospital and community health centre (CHC) in a month. There are several district hospitals and dozens of CHCs where such facilities aren’t available.
Dr Shafqat Khan, Additional Director, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) said that the process of making such facility available in every district hospital and community health centre is going on. It will be made available in all DHs and CHCs within a period of one month, he said.
After the target is achieved, such facilities will be made available at primary health centres (PHCs) of J&K, he added.
The people have welcomed the step and said the facility is saving them time and they also no more have to wait in queues for their turns.
J&K has generated around seven lakh Out Patient Department (OPD) tokens through the innovative Scan & Share Queue Management System and the milestone was reached in just four months since it was introduced.
Dr Shafqat said the QR code-based rapid OPD registration service is being implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA) under its flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
The facility is ensuring quick and queue-less registration of the patients and saving time for patients as well, he said, adding that the patients scan the QR code using any health application of their choice (such as ABHA, Aarogya Setu, EkaCare) and share their ABHA profile (demographic information like name, age, gender, and ABHA number) with the Health Management Information system (HMIS) of the hospital.
“This enables paperless registration and thereby instant token generation. The patient saves time and the health facility is able to optimise the need for resources deployed for registration,” he informed.
He said the patient’s health records also get digitally linked to their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) which they can manage and access from their phone anytime anywhere.
According to him, patient registrations can be made effortless, seamless and accurate through this facility. “Our focus is to work closely with the stakeholders to maximise the impact of ABDM-enabled digital health services,” he said. (KNO)
