Budgam, Jun 30: Authorities Wednesday sealed a brick kiln for operating within the radius of 8 kilometers of Srinagar Airport.
Sources said that a team led by Naib Tehsildar sealed a brick kiln at Madbal village of Chadoora.
As per norms no brick kiln can operate within a radius of 10 kilometers of any Airport, however, the brick kiln owner in question had violated these guidelines and set up the brick kiln within the radius of 8 kilometers of Srinagar Airport.
On the directions of Naib Tehsildar, the brick kiln with style name H4 was sealed while a notice to the owner of the brick kiln was served accordingly.
Pertinently, people in dozens of villages are up in arms against brick kiln owners for polluting atmosphere. Budgam village has the largest number of brick kiln in Kashmir Valley. (KNT)
