Budgam, Jul 2: The family and relatives of a 30-year-old woman, who was found hanging from a walnut tree in Nowgam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on May 10, staged a protest on Friday, alleging hospital authorities of delaying reports of post-mortem.
Reports said that the family members of the deceased lady held a protest outside sub-district hospital Charar-i-sharief while demanding justice.
“My sister was murdered, as she was hanged to death by her in-laws,” said a brother of the deceased lady.
As per her family, she was found hanging outside her in-laws residence at Nowgam Darwan during the intervening night of May 09 and 10.
“If she had committed suicide, why would doctors delay the post-mortem report. They conducted a post-mortem on May 10, but they didn’t show us the report even though it has been 55 days now,” said Shahruk Malik, brother of the deceased lady.
The family members alleged that doctors are delaying in giving the FSL report by saying they have not received the clear report’s as yet.
Meanwhile, after registering their protest, the report of post-mortem was provided to them later in the evening following which they also took to the streets and termed the report fake, saying that the matter should be investigated properly.
Shahruk Malik said that there was no truth in the post-mortem report and the timing of death has not even been mentioned there as well. “The matter should be investigated thoroughly so that justice is delivered,” he said.
