Bhatnagar reviews functioning of GMCs, district hospitals of Jammu Division

Jammu, Dec 7: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar Thursday chaired a meeting to review the functioning of GMCs, Associated Hospitals as well as District Hospitals of Jammu division at Civil Secretariat here.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar; Managing Director, JKMSCL, Director Coordination new GMCs, Director Health Services Jammu, Principals of GMCs of Jammu, Doda, Kathua, Rajouri and Udhampur, Medical Superintendents of all district hospitals and Associated Hospitals of Jammu division, CMOs of Jammu division and other concerned officers both in person and through video conferencing.
During the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar closely examined the operational efficiency, infrastructure and overall healthcare delivery of each district and Associated hospital besides the progress of ongoing works in newly established medical colleges were also ascertained in detail during the meeting.
During the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar emphasized on the importance of continuous improvement and innovation in healthcare services. He underscored the need for collaborative efforts to address challenges and enhance the overall quality of medical education and patient care.
The Advisor delved upon the officers to devise yearly plans for development, infrastructure improvement, technology upgrades and capacity building for each medical facility. He directed the officers to establish proper mechanism for checking medical supplies received in each health facility.
He also asked them to establish a QR code mechanism for certification of each supply received besides feedback of doctors and other concerned should also be collected from each district hospital and other facilities.
The Advisor also asked the management of JKMSCL and health authorities to establish a mechanism for requirement of emergency medicines and equipments in case of any exigency at any hospital.
While reviewing the functioning of GMC Jammu, Advisor Bhatnagar directed the Principal and Medical Superintendent to identify space for installation of Cath Lab. He also asked them to augment the emergency services at the hospital so that people are not compelled to go outside for any kind of treatment.
While reviewing the functioning of newly established GMCs, Advisor Bhatnagar called upon the officers to formulate a committee for preparing a department wise list of essential equipments required for these facilities within a month.
During the meeting, Director Coordination new GMCs gave a detailed presentation on the functioning of these facilities.
