As the academic calendar is about to end, the private schools have kept the admissions open for the new enrollment like every year, but almost all the private institutions are violating the norms by taking the admission fee from the parents. The parents have time and again raised their concerns in this regard as several private schools are allegedly continuing the practice of taking the admission fee from the students while getting enrolled in their schools. Despite warnings by the government many times, such a practice was never stopped in the private educational institutions, thereby giving the school administration a free-hand to loot the people. In a similar way, the Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC) in Jammu and Kashmir has issued a stern warning addressing complaints about private schools in the UT charging unauthorized admission fees. The FFRC has directed the private schools not to charge the admission fee, but one fails to understand why the warnings are being issued when the action is not being taken against the schools involved in the act. The education has turned into a business for many private school owners, who continue to defy the orders and fleece the people by one way or the other. It is the high-time to save the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir and thereby the people involved in fleecing the parents must face stern action and those involved in seeking admission fee from the students should face the highest action so that the others will learn a lesson.
