Pulwama, Dec 30: A road leading from Chakoora to Panzgam in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district is in dilapidated conditions, causing inconvenience to commuters.
The residents of Chakoora, Panzgam, Grawgund and its adjacent complained of facing inconvenience while travelling through the road. They said the road has developed potholes which make it difficult to drive smoothly on it.
They said that the widening of this road for around two kilometres has been kept on halt and it has become nightmare for the whole area as people even can’t walk on this part of the road.
Mushtaq Ahmad a local resident said that the road is currently full of potholes and is giving tough times to locals as well passersby.
He said that work on the road started a few years ago but has been left midway.
“We have approached the concerned authorities several times requesting them to initiate repairing of the road to no avail,” said Mohammad Shaban, a resident of Panzgam village.
Locals said that despite bringing this issue in notice of concerned authorities several times nothing has been done so far.
They requested higher ups especially Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to look into the matter and take immediate steps in this regard.
An official said that some people are causing hindrances in widening of the road and they are working to resolve the matter for carrying out work on the road.
