Kupwara, Feb 8: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Thursday conducted an extensive tour of Kupwara town.
The tour encompassed areas including the Bus stand Kupwara, Jamia road Kupwara, parking slot at main chowk Kupwara, Hospital road and Bye-Pass road and other markets of town, where the Deputy Commissioner assessed the status of basic amenities, cleanliness and and interacted with people.
During her visit, the DC also engaged with local residents to gather feedback, understand concerns and reinforce collaborative efforts towards beautification of the town and to provide hassle free services to the people.
DC took first hand appraisal of Solid waste management, market checkings, and anti encroachment drive from roads and pavements of Kupwara town.
DC reviewed the status of traffic management in the town and checked the parking slots besides assessing bottlenecks impeding smooth flow of traffic in the town.
DC directed CEO, Municipal Council Kupwara to get important roads and pavements like Bye-Pass road and Hospital road free from vendors and illegal encroachments.
DC directed EO to impose fine on those shopkeepers who don’t use dustbins and spread litter and plastic wastes in the market.
DC directed that no vehicle shall be parked on Jamia road Kupwara, Hospital road and bypass, instead commuters will use parking slot near old Chowk Kupwara and Rigipora bus stand.
DC was accompanied by EO Municipal council Kupwara, Naveed Aijaz, officers and officials of Police and revenue departments.
