Srinagar, Feb 24: Apni Party President and former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari on Saturday said that the party will contest on all the five seats of Lok Sabha in the upcoming parliamentary elections and that the candidates will be finalised after the forthcoming visit of Election Commission to Jammu & Kashmir.
Talking to reporters, Bukhari said that the party has already made it clear that it will contest from all the Lok Sabha constituencies in the upcoming polls.
“We will announce the candidates only after the upcoming visit of the Election Commission on March 15. It has been heard that both the parliamentary and assembly polls will be held simultaneously and the party will announce its candidates only after the EC’s visit,” he said.
He further added if the assembly polls too are held, the next government will be formed by Apni Party only. “Apni Party was formed at a time when the situation was challenging. We are fighting against the false narrative and it is always challenging to fight against such narrative. No election is easy and every opponent is challenging,” he said.
Bukhari also said that he will be contesting the upcoming assembly polls from Chanapora constituency.
Earlier, the party has made it clear that there will be no pre-poll alliance with any party. (KNO)
