Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday as the crescent moon of Shawwal has been sighted Tuesday. This festival is giving a message to the Muslim Ummah to celebrate the festival with simplicity. On this Eid in particular, the Muslims have been asked to pay Sadqa-e-Fitr, which is mainly aimed to ensure that the poor and downtrodden section of the society will also get a helping hand to celebrate the occasion like others. The poor and destitute must be remembered on this day and the people should give them a chance to celebrate like the others. But, the parents at this juncture have to play a crucial role in ensuring that their children must not get indulged in bursting firecrackers, which is not only prohibited in Islam, but also against the government orders. The celebrations by bursting firecrackers will not only be against the Islamic principles but are also going to hurt the sentiments of poor children, who don’t have enough money to buy such things to celebrate. Therefore, the religious clerics should also throw light on the issue and ensure that the children in their respective localities are stopped from bursting the firecrackers, which will help in ensuring celebrations with simplicity. The need of the hour is to ensure that the parents keep close watch on their children to see where they are spending their amount on the occasion. The Muslims must join hands this time to celebrate the festival with simplicity.
