Bandipora, Apr 19: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ur Rehman Friday convened a meeting here to discuss issues for restoration of electricity supply to Gurez through a grid that got damaged during recent snowfall.
It is worth mentioning here that Gurez was connected to the electricity grid for the first time in November last year but got cut off due to recent heavy snowfall in the Razdan area.
The meeting also discussed threadbare infrastructure damages and logistical constraints in the restoration process.
The DC directed the concerned to redouble efforts and expedite the restoration process and minimize disruptions.
In the meeting, it was decided to have another meeting regarding the issue tomorrow and have joint discussion with other concerned stakeholders including Beacon and the Mechanical Engineering Department in order to complete the restoration work on priority.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Mohammad Ashraf, CPO M Maqbool, Executive Engineer STD Ganderbal and other concerned.
SDM Gurez and Tehsildar Gurez also attended the meeting through virtual mode.
