Srinagar, Apr 30: Amidst the road closures at several places due to adverse weather conditions in Kashmir, stranded tourists are finding support from people here as they enjoy their visit to the valley.
People of Srinagar have showing hospitality to tourists facing uncertainties due to the road blockades. They are extending a helping hand to ensure the comfort and well-being of their guests.
Expressing their gratitude, tourists stranded in Srinagar, hailed the kindness and generosity of locals.
“We may be stuck here, but the warmth and hospitality of the people have made our unexpected stay much more bearable,” remarked a tourist, Mukesh Kumar, at the iconic Dal Lake.
Authorities, in collaboration with locals, have been working tirelessly to assist stranded tourists and ensure their safety. Efforts to clear the roads and restore normalcy are underway, with officials providing regular updates to reassure tourists of ongoing progress.
Despite the challenges, tourists stranded in Srinagar are making the most of their extended stay by immersing themselves in the rich culture and natural beauty of the valley. “We are exploring the Dal Lake and having local cuisine. “We may have been stranded unexpectedly, but our time here has allowed us to have meaningful connections with the people and immerse ourselves in the beauty of Kashmir,” shared another tourist.
Meanwhile, authorities have assured that they are closely monitoring the situation and are working to ensure the safety and well-being of all stranded tourists. “Efforts are underway to clear the roads and restore normalcy as soon as possible,” an official said.
He said the restoration work is in progress on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. He advised the commuters to avoid the journey on NH-44 till the road is fully restored.
