DC Budgam reviews arrangements for Urs Syed Ali Ala Balki (RA)

Srinagar, Jul 30: On the directions of Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, Friday chaired a meeting regarding the arrangements for annual Urs of Syed Ali Ala Balki (RA) Pakherpora starting from 1st Moharam.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer, Waqf Board, Mufti Mohammad Farid ud Din, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo, Chief Executive Officer, Yousmarg Development Authority, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone and administrator of both the shrines besides all the concerned officers.
DC had a detailed review regarding various arrangements including sanitation, potable water supply, uninterrupted electricity and provision of related facilities for the devotees on the occasion.
DC exhorted upon all to strictly obseve all SOPs regarding Covid while celebrating this auspicious occasion.
Director Tourism informed the meeting that the work on renovation and repair under PRASAD scheme is going on with a sanctioned cost of Rs. 85.17 lakh. Besides, further development of Ziarat Sharif by way of illumination is also under progress with a sanctioned cost of Rs. 40.00 lakh.
CEO Waqf Board informed the meeting that the the Board will ensure all its arrangements are put in place with regard to Urs.
Chief Executive Officer, Yousmarg Development Authority informed the meeting that the Authority in collaboration with Rural Development Department will take up extensive sanitation drives in an around the Shrine during the Urs days.
Administrator, Syed Ali Ala Balki (RA) Shrine requested for macdamization of Sumo Stand and lanes of Pakharpora town before the Urs.
Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed various beautification and related projects of Ziarat-Chare-e Sharif which included construction of Wazu Khana and double seated sanitation block through Tourism Department which is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 1.34 crore. Besides, the first floor of Alamdar Shoping Complex comprising 51 shops has been completed while the second floor comprising 52 units will be constructed on Self Financing basis.
Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the officers to expedite the execution of work on all these projects for timely completion.
