Srinagar, Sep 13: The air was filled with devotion around Hazratbal shrine today as hundreds of faithful thronged the Dargah Hazratbal shrine to offer Friday prayers, ahead of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), marking the birthday of the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Outside the shrine, the shops were crowded and people were seen busy buying goods.
According to reports, the atmosphere around Hazratbal shrine was charged as hundreds of devotees visited to offer Friday prayers.
Additionally, the shops and stalls outside the shrine reported good footfall, while Shafiq Ahmad, a shopkeeper, said, “I have seen many occasions in all seasons, but there’s something peculiar about the days before Eid-e-Milad. People from far-off places visit here during these days.”
A devotee from Khanyar Srinagar said, “I come here for every special occasion like Eid-e-Milad, Urs Mubarak, and sometimes on Fridays,” said Mohammad Ashraf.
Another devotee from Anantnag said, “It’s more than just a place. It is where I bring all my worries and hopes. Every time I come here, I leave feeling lighter.”
