Poll campaigning turning interesting

The election campaigning is turning interesting with each passing day in Jammu and Kashmir, especially after the jailed incumbent parliamentarian, Engineer Abdul Rashid Sheikh was released on interim bail from Tihar jail. The jailed leader has started attacking the opposition as well as the ruling party in centre for one or the other issues. He has been making scathing attacks on the former chief ministers of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not coming up to the expectations of the people. His statements remain the hot topics for the political leaders across Jammu and Kashmir as he continued to challenge the regional parties for one or other reason. However, an interesting turn of events took place when the former chief minister and National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah accepted his challenge, asking him to withdraw from the election field in a bid to pave way for his party as per his challenge. Er Rashid’s statements have been liked by many people while some of the denizens have also lashed out at him for using the unacceptable language used by him against the former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. The crowd at the election rallies is increasing with each passing day, which has put an end to the previous situation when only a few people were participating in such gatherings. The campaigning is turning interesting with more and more voters hearing their candidates across Jammu and Kashmir, giving an impression of how keen they are at present in electing their representatives with a range of choices available with them in the upcoming elections, slated to be held from September 18, 2024.
