Army’s Daggar Division organizes Women’s Premier League in Baramulla

Baramulla, Oct 17: Baramulla Thursday witnessed the commencement of Women’s Premier League 2024, marking a significant milestone in promoting women’s cricket in the region. The inaugural match took place at St. Joseph’s Playground, with the Deputy Cdr of the 19 Artillery Brigade gracing the event as the Chief Guest. The General Secretary of the Baramulla Cricket Forum, Zubair Bashir Dar, was also present, adding to the event’s prestige.
The league witnessed enthusiastic participation from several school teams, reflecting the growing interest and talent in women’s cricket in Baramulla. The inaugural match set a vibrant tone for the series, showcasing the commitment of the Indian Army in collaboration with local authorities to foster sports and empower women through such initiatives.
The Chief Guest, in his address, emphasized the importance of sports in building character and discipline among the youth. He praised the participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to pursue their passion for cricket with dedication. Zubair Bashir Dar also highlighted the role of the Baramulla Cricket Forum in nurturing young talent and expressed his gratitude to the Indian Army for their support in organizing the league.
The Women’s Premier League 2024 is expected to be a thrilling series of matches, with teams competing fiercely for the title.
