Ganderbal, Nov 13: On the directions of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA), additional mobile toilet facilities have been installed in key areas of the popular winter tourist destination—Sonamarg.
This initiative aims to maintain cleanliness and ensure basic amenities are available for both tourists and local residents, officials said.
They said the installation of these mobile toilets is part of ongoing efforts to improve the overall infrastructure and services in Sonamarg, particularly during the busy tourist season.
The authorities hope the new facilities will help keep the area clean and comfortable for visitors, contributing to a more enjoyable experience in the scenic region.
Mushtaq Ahmad, a local resident and shopkeeper, said that with the influx of tourists during the winter season, cleanliness is a top priority. “These mobile toilets will make a big difference, especially for visitors, who come to enjoy the natural beauty of Sonamarg,” Ahmad said.
A Snow Bike Rider, Irshad Ahmad said that Sonamarg is a beautiful destination and such facilities will go a long way in improving the overall experience for tourists and ensuring the area remains clean and welcoming.
The new facilities have been strategically placed at key spots, including near popular trekking routes and scenic spots, where tourists tend to gather.
Local authorities are hopeful that this move will help in maintaining the pristine environment of Sonamarg while providing essential services to both residents and visitors
CEO Sonamarg Development Authority, Gh Mohd Bhat said that they have emphasized the importance of maintaining hygienic standards to accommodate the growing number of visitors to the area, especially during peak winter months.
