Budgam, Dec 2: Two laborers from Bihar lost their lives, while another sustained multiple injuries in a landslide incident in the Ichgam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday. The trio was working when the landslide occurred trapping them underneath.
The trio was rushed to the District Hospital Budgam where doctors declared two among them brought dead. The injured labour identified as Satinder Paswan was shifted to the Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla, Srinagar, for further treatment.
The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Budgam confirmed that two of the laborers were brought dead, while the third one was referred to Bone and Joint Hospital for treatment.
He identified the deceased as, Bachan Lal Paswan and Kasturi Lal Paswan, both residents of Bihar.
An official said that a road is being constructed in Lingbal area of Ichgam Budgam. “The victims were working on the road and suddenly came underneath a landslide. We retrieved them and shifted to the hospital. Two died in the incident and one is injured and getting treatment at a Srinagar hospital,” he said.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
