Srinagar, Dec 4: Real Kashmir FC, also known as the ‘Snow Leopards,’ delivered a nail bitting 2-1 victory against Delhi FC in an electrifying match at the TRC Football Turf Ground on Wednesday, leaving fans in excitement.
For RKFC, Bouba Aminou opened the scoring in the 72nd minute, followed by Lalramdinsanga Ralte’s goal in the 84th minute. Despite a late comeback by Delhi FC’s Stephane Samir Binong, who scored one goal back in the 89th minute, the home team had already emerged victorious, showcasing their beautiful gameplay.
The match witnessed a nail-biting first half with both teams displaying remarkable skills and tactics, keeping the crowd on edge.
It was in the second half that the game turned dramatic, with Real Kashmir’s forward scoring the game and sealing the victory with later the Delhi FC 89th-minute goal.
The stadium was packed to capacity, with fans celebrating the victory. “The energy in the stadium was electric. Real Kashmir’s win feels like a win for all of us,” said Adil, a supporter from Sonwar.
Another fan, Nayeem Bhat, shared his excitement, saying, “It is not just about football, but it is about pride. This win brings us together and shows the support of our people.”
Also, the club extended its gratitude to the fans through a social media post, stating, “Your energy and cheers made the difference.”
It is worth mentioning that Real Kashmir Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Incorporated in 2016, the club predominantly competes in I-League, the second tier of Indian football league system.
Moreover, a statement of the club a copy of which lies with KNO reads Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) defeated Delhi FC 2-1 in a thrilling I-League match on Wednesday at the jam-packed TRC Ground in Srinagar.
“This is Real Kashmir FC’s second win at home in three matches, with the other ending in a draw. The team now has seven points from three games and is unbeaten so far. The goals for Real Kashmir, also known as the Snow Leopards were scored by Bouba Aminou in the 72nd minute and Lalramdinsanga Ralte in the 84th minute. Delhi FC’s Stephane Samir Binong pulled one back in the 89th minute, but it wasn’t enough for a comeback,” reads the statement.
The match featured some dramatic moments, especially involving Delhi FC’s goalkeeper Debnath Mondal. He received a yellow card for arguing with the referee and later left his position dangerously to stop an opponent, leading to a near miss. Although Mondal made some impressive saves, he was unable to stop Aminou’s header in the 72nd minute.
“Lalramdinsanga Ralte doubled Real Kashmir’s lead before Binong scored for Delhi FC. During added time, Real Kashmir had a chance to extend their lead with a penalty, but Abdou Karim Samb missed the spot kick,” the statement said.
RKFC owner Arshad Shawl praised the team for their win and thanked the fans for their support. He has been at the forefront of promoting football in the valley. RKFC manager Yasir Malik also expressed gratitude to the crowd for backing the team. Real Kashmir, the only I-League team from Jammu and Kashmir, will play their next match on December 9. The matches are live on Sony Sports,” the statement reads.
