Chief Secy visits Jagti, take stock of amenities

Jammu, Dec 7: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo Saturday conducted a visit of Jagti Migrant Camp housing Kashmiri Pandits, to take stock of the amenities available there besides listening to the issues raised by the camp inmates there.
Besides the Principal Secretary, Home and DMRR&R Departments the Chief Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu; Commissioner, JMC; SSP, Jammu; Relief Commissioner; Director, School Education Jammu; Director, Health Services, Jammu; Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti and other concerned officers.
During this visit the Chief Secretary went around the Sub-District Hospital and the Higher Secondary School established there. He took first hand appraisal of the facilities being extended to the citizens in these institutions.
On this occasion he directed the hospital authorities to start performing general anaesthesia (GA) based surgeries in the hospital forthwith. He also enjoined upon them to take measures to upgrade the public services in the hospital for the benefit ofall the locals living in and around the camp besides lessening the referrals from this hospital.
While inspecting the Government Higher Secondary School he took note of the staff and subjects taught in this educational institutions. He asked for proper maintenance of the school premises and provisioning of sufficient number of teachers in each subject taught here.
While speaking in the public grievances camp held here he maintained that the government is committed to provide every amenity to the migrants. He made out that the genuine issues raised here would also be resolved in a time-bound manner.
He further addressed them to register themselves under NFSA s this would enable them to receive many other benefits of social security schemes and CSS implemented here.
He assured them that in order to create the Self Employment opportunities for the youth the government is going to held camps here in association with the banks operating here in the UT.
He further reiterated that with the completion of digitization of the credentials of all the migrants, the doors for enumeration under different schemes of GoI would open for them.
He made out that the government is also going to cover the eligible migrants under PM-KISAN and other schemes as well. He sensitized them that their issues are in the notice of the government and the Relief Commissioner is the dedicated link to raise them at appropriate forums for timely redressal.
In his speech the Principal Secretary, DMRR&R Department, Chandraker Bharti informed the gathering that these people should not feel stigmatized for they are quite like other citizens of the country only tried by circumstances.
He made out that the government departments like Jal Shakti Department has been asked to look after the Water supply and JMC the sanitation process to bring in more efficiency in these services. He stated that it is the continuous endeavour of the Department to bring better and modern services to the migrants residing in J&K.
Earlier the Relief Commissioner, Arvind Karwani gave the background of the establishment of this township here at Jagti besides the facilities being provided to the residents of this camp.
He gave out that there are 4224 flats constructed here for 5131 families with 53 parks and 10 community halls also for the use of residents.
He revealed that the government is going to build a mega 2-story community hall at the cost of around Rs 6.34 Cr. He also took this occasion to bring up the need for renovation and repair work of the flats for which he claimed that the process is going to start shortly.
