Javed Rana reviews progress on development activities in Poonch

Asks for expeditious completion of ongoing projects

Poonch, Dec 27: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, Friday chaired a review meeting with key officers from all departments of Poonch district at Mendhar.
The meeting reviewed progress on various developmental works being executed in Poonch under different schemes. The agenda of the meeting spanned a broad spectrum of issues like upgradation of Education & Health infrastructure, Cluster Tribal Model Villages, Jal Jeevan Mission, tribal welfare schemes and other social sector schemes.
While addressing the meeting, Javed Rana emphasised expeditious completion of ongoing projects for timely delivery of benefits. He directed the officials to put in place a robust mechanism to ensure that the benefits of various government schemes reach the true beneficiaries. He also asked the district administration to consult elected legislators in planning and execution of developmental projects and encourage their active participation to help mobilise communities. He asked the officials to make a lasting contribution with integrity, team spirit and focussed approach in their respective fields for welfare of locals.
Javed Rana advised for formulating a concrete plan of action to upgrade the education and healthcare services in the district.
To assist and support the tribal communities, Javed Rana said that the government has launched various schemes and policies aimed at their upliftment, with a focus on sustainable development and socio-economic empowerment. He said that through these welfare measures, the government aims to ensure that tribal communities receive the necessary support to bridge the development gap and improve their socio-economic conditions.
While reviewing progress on JJM in the district, Javed Rana evaluated the advancement of individual assignments and emphasised to expedite the projects, which are at various stages of completion, to meet the set deadlines.
Javed Rana appreciated the suggestions put forth by the officers regarding further streamlining of implementation of government schemes.
