However, on February-28—a day before the reopening of schools, Education Minister, Sakina Masood Itoo said that winter vacations for all classes in Kashmir schools have been extended till March-6.

Meanwhile, the authorities in Gurez valley had also extended winter vacation for all schools till March-8.
The decision was taken in wake of heavy snowfall, and prevailing weather conditions in the area.
Pertinently, the colleges in Kashmir valley resumed academic activities on February-14 following a fifty days of winter vacations.
