Pakharpora locals stage protest against water scarcity

Pakharpora, Aug 26: Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in providing adequate water supply, the residents of Sheikh Mohalla Balkhi Basti Pakherpora here in Central Kashmir’s Budgam Thursday held a protest.
The protestors raised slogans against the PHE Department and District administration Budgam.
The protesters blocked Pakharpora-Pulwama road as a result commuters faced a lot of inconvenience.
They alleged that with they are suffering due to no regular supply of drinking water.
Several times the matter was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities, but nothing has been done till today.
“We staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till date”, the residents said.
The protestors demanded regular supply of drinking water in their area. (KNT)
