Srinagar, Mar 28: A lecture on the Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis (TB) and Kidney Disease was organized under the aegis of the Regional CRPF Wives Association (RCWA), Group Centre (GC), CRPF, Srinagar.
The session featured renowned medical experts, Dr. Shafat Ahmad Keenu, Head of Emergency Medicine, and Dr. Hilal Ahmad Malla, Nephrologist, who provided valuable insights on the subject, a statement issued reads.
The event commenced with Rajesh Kumar, DIG, GC, CRPF Srinagar, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished speakers by presenting them with bouquets. Dr. Hilal Ahmad Malla delivered an informative lecture on kidney diseases, discussing metabolic illnesses, dietary precautions, and dispelling common myths about dialysis. Meanwhile, Dr. Shafat Ahmad Keenu conducted a hands-on demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), explaining simple yet effective techniques for performing the life-saving procedure.
The session witnessed active participation from around 165 force personnel and family members residing inside the campus. First-aid course-trained personnel were also in attendance, with several individuals invited on stage to practice CPR on a mannequin.
In recognition of their contributions, Sangeeta Kumar, President RCWA, GC, Srinagar, presented mementos to Dr. Shafat Ahmad Keenu and Dr. Hilal Ahmad Malla. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Annu Arya, Senior Medical Officer, GC Srinagar, acknowledging the speakers for their insightful discussions and demonstrations.
This initiative aimed to raise awareness among CRPF personnel and their families about preventive healthcare and emergency response techniques, ensuring better health preparedness within the community.
