Coronavirus: Kashmir logs 137, Jammu 29 new cases

Srinagar, Aug 28: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday witnessed one death and 166 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,211.
With one more death, the death toll in the UT has reached 4,406 and 166 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 324,979.
Of the exact number of 324,979 cases, 202,028 are from Kashmir division and 122,951 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 166 new cases, 137 belong to Kashmir division while as 29 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 202,028 including 198,913 recoveries and 2,241 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,951 including 120,449 recoveries and 2,165 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,211 including 874 from Kashmir division and 337 from Jammu division.
With 103 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 319,362 which is 98.29 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 77 from Srinagar, 10 from Baramulla, 16 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 08 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 29 from Jammu division include 02 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 03 from Rajouri, 14 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 06 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Saturday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally reaches to 44.
As per officials figures, 72,262 positive cases including 834 deaths and 71,021 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,872 including 282 deaths and 23,497 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,143 including 22,838 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,325 including 15,087 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,232 including 166 deaths and 14,028 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,446 including 16,203 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,626 cases including 9,482 and 101 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,115 including 9,979 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,410 including 11,245 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,597 including 5,533 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 53,005 including 51,769 recoveries and 1,142 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,380 including 11,233 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,091 including 10,817 recoveries and 235 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,540 including 7,321 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Doda, 9,286 including 9,124 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,136 including 7,011 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,772 including 4,675 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,315 including 6,199 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 5,987 including 5,916 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,439 including 6,384 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 3,187,189 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,161 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,211 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,726,545 persons have completed the surveillance period and 447,866 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 13,219,524 samples are available. Out of 13,219,524 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,894,545 while as 324,979 have tested positive, among them 1,211 persons are active, 319,362 persons have recovered and 4,406 persons have died.
