Baramulla, Jul 8: In a proactive initiative to accelerate developmental activities under the Capex Budget 2025–26, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired two sector-wise review meetings at the DC Office Baramulla to assess physical and financial progress across departments.
The first meeting focused on key departments including Irrigation, Public Works Department (R&B), Education (Elementary and Secondary), Youth Services & Sports, Health, and Public Health Engineering (PHE). Departmental officers presented PowerPoint presentations highlighting the status of ongoing projects.
DC conducted a detailed review, stressing transparency, optimal fund utilization, and strict quality control in project execution.
In the second session, DC engaged with officials from the Rural Development Department (RDD) and Urban Local Bodies (ULB), reviewing the progress of PRI, BDC, DDC, and urban sector works. Emphasis was laid on clearing pending liabilities and ensuring progress aligns with the fund allocation under these critical components.
Highlighting the importance of timely action, DC directed all departments to expedite project execution, regularly update the BEAMS portal, and mandatorily submit detailed plans for new works under the 2025–26 Capex Budget by July 10 to facilitate early administrative approvals.
Calling for inter-departmental coordination and a focus on high-impact public works, DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to accountable and citizen-centric governance through timely and transparent development planning.
Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, Superintending Engineer R&B, Assistant Commissioner Development, and other concerned officers and officials were present in the meeting.
