DC Ganderbal reviews arrangements for Independence Day celebrations

Ganderbal, Jul 18: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, convened a meeting Friday to review the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat.
At the outset, the DC conducted a comprehensive review of all necessary arrangements for the smooth and dignified conduct of the celebration. The preparations reviewed included the readiness of the main venue, podium arrangements, security measures, seating, transportation, power, electricity, parking, refreshment, medical care, deployment of fire tenders, decoration of major buildings and sanitation.
The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria Stadium, Ganderbal, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest, followed by a march past featuring contingents from the District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, SSB, PTS Manigam, Forest Protection Force, and students from various educational institutions. Students will also present patriotic cultural programmes during the event.
The DC underscored the importance of cleanliness, the illumination of government offices and flag hoisting at iconic locations, tourist destinations, and government establishments to honor the day with appropriate enthusiasm and respect.
Responsibilities for various arrangements were assigned to respective departments, and the committees were constituted to monitor implementation on the ground to ensure smooth conduct of the function.
Additionally, the DC directed all Tehsildars to ensure timely arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day at the Subdivision and tehsil levels.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal; Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi; CEO SDA, ACR, Executive Engineers of various wings; EO Municipality; ARTO; Tehsildars, and other concerned officers and officials.
