Bandipora, Jul 22: In a bid to promote the health and well-being of the transport community, Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Bandipora, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora, organised free health checkup camps in the Sumbal and Gurez sub-divisions of the district.
The camps were well-attended, with over 200 drivers receiving free medical checkups and health screenings conducted by trained medical staff.
On the occasion, representatives of the transporters and drivers’ associations expressed gratitude to the CMO and ARTO Bandipora for organising the much-needed medical outreach.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Bandipora, underscored the importance of regular health checkups for drivers. He emphasised that ensuring the physical fitness of drivers not only safeguards their personal health but also contributes to overall road safety.
He added that these camps are part of a broader effort to strengthen welfare measures and support services for the district’s transport community.
