Drass, Jul 25: The 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations concluded on a poignant and patriotic note with a vibrant evening cultural programme held in Drass, honouring the valour and supreme sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
The event featured powerful patriotic songs, the traditional Yak Dance and a spectacular drone show, highlighting India’s advancing technological strength in air surveillance and showcasing the nation’s evolving defence capabilities.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh L. Mandaviya, attended the event as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth. They were joined by Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, GOC 14 Corps, senior Army officials, Veer Naris, and the Next of Kin of the Kargil War martyrs.
In a deeply respectful ceremony, both ministers felicitated the Veer Naris and family members of fallen soldiers, acknowledging their strength and sacrifice. “Paying tribute to our martyrs is not just a ceremony—it is our national duty,” said MoS Defence Sanjay Seth. “They gave their today to protect our tomorrow.”
Seth also highlighted the successful conclusion of Operation Sindoor, calling it a reflection of India’s growing global stature and military might. “The world today recognises the strength of a New India—one that is exporting more than importing,” he remarked.
The evening concluded with a Vijay Bhoj (Victory Feast), where soldiers, families of martyrs, and citizens came together in an emotional display of unity, remembrance, and national pride.
This grand finale served as a stirring reminder of the bravery of India’s armed forces and the unbreakable bond they share with the people they protect—blending tradition, innovation, and heartfelt gratitude in one moving tribute.
