Udhampur, Aug 6: A woman died and nine others were injured after a mini bus overturned near Jakhani on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district on Wednesday morning.
According to officials, the accident occurred around 9:15 am when the mini bus, en route to Udhampur from Chenani, overturned while the driver attempted to avoid a collision with a truck.
All ten passengers on board sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to the district hospital in Udhampur for treatment. However, one of the injured, identified as 30-year-old Santosh Devi, succumbed to her injuries.
Officials said the condition of two other injured passengers remains critical and they are under intensive medical care.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident. [KNT]
