Srinagar, Sep 20: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference State Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shamim Firdous Saturday visited the revered Shrine of Syed Mansoor Sahib (RA) at Behibagh Zaldagar, where extensive reconstruction and restoration works are currently underway.
The ambitious Rs 2.50 crore restoration project includes the beautification of the shrine, rebuilding its structure, and the construction of a separate mosque within the shrine’s compound.
During her visit, Firdous expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work, commending the efforts to preserve the region’s rich cultural and religious heritage. She emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity and architectural integrity of the shrine while ensuring that the restoration work progresses swiftly, benefiting the devotees who visit the site.
Firdous also toured the Janaza Gah at Chota Bazar, which is undergoing significant reconstruction at a cost of Rs 4.50 lakh. She took stock of the ongoing work, stressing the importance of completing the project in a timely manner to ensure continued public access.
As part of her tour, Firdous visited the revered Shrine of Hazrat Shah Niyamatullah Qadri (RA) at Safa Kadal, where she reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Urs Sharief. She assessed the arrangements being made to accommodate the large number of devotees expected for the annual religious event.
“The restoration of these sacred sites is not only essential for preserving our cultural heritage, but it is also crucial in providing a safe and welcoming environment for the devotees who come to seek blessings,” she said. “We have a duty to ensure these places of worship are well-maintained and that all necessary arrangements are made for the upcoming religious events.”
