Qazigund, Sep 30: The inhabitants of Chatergam Kund Thursday staged a protest against the Roads and Building (R&B) department for failing to macadamize the vital road from Chatergam to Razloo in the area.
The protesters said that the dilapidated road in the area has resulted in immense hardship to locals and commuters.
“The road has not been repaired or macadamized since last decade due to which hundreds of commuters suffer on a daily basis,” the protesters said.
Ghulam Rasool, a local, said that the main road in the area has developed potholes, which has resulted in the immense hardships to the commuters.
AEE, R&B division Qazigund, Riyaz Ahmad Parray, said that the work on the three kilometers road will start soon.
“The process has been initiated. The work will start soon,” Parray said.
