DC Budgam reviews progress of RDD works under District Capex, CDF

Budgam, Dec 23: A comprehensive review meeting of works sanctioned under District Capex and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the Rural Development Department (RDD) sector was conducted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat.
The review was called to assess the overall physical and financial progress across all the 17 blocks of the district.
During the meeting, the DC was apprised that a total of 2,694 new works have been taken up across the 17 blocks of Budgam district. Out of these, 2,660 works have been accorded Administrative Approval, 2,633 works have been tendered, 2,485 works have been issued Letters of Intent, 1,911 works have been allotted, 2,113 works have been started on the ground, and 1,376 works have been completed, registering an overall completion percentage of 51.73 percent.
The DC noted that significant progress has been achieved in several blocks, while special attention was recommended for blocks such as Chadoora, Nagam, and Khansahib, where progress was relatively slower.
Financially, it was highlighted that a total of Rs 4,271.346 lakh has been released under District Capex and CDF for the RDD sector works, out of which Rs 1,558.885 lakh has been expended till date.
The DC emphasised that the pace of physical execution must align with fund utilization and that the timely completion of ongoing works should be ensured. He directed that delays at the execution stage must be minimized and quality standards strictly maintained.
The DC instructed officers to carry out close monitoring, regular field inspections, and to expedite tendering and allotment wherever required. He reiterated that RDD sector works are crucial for strengthening rural infrastructure, and all stakeholders must coordinate effectively to ensure maximum completion within the stipulated timelines, thereby delivering tangible benefits to the local communities.
The DC directed that Progress reports to be submitted regularly by the concerned officers to ensure timely execution. He stressed on BDOs to complete the pending works vigorously and to induce extra efforts to achieve the desired results.
The meeting was attended by CPO Budgam, ACP Budgam, Executive Engineer REW, BDOs and AEs.
