Jammu, Feb 19: Ganderbal Police on Thursday conducted a special enforcement drive against unregistered service providers in Sonmarg and detained 11 photographers operating without valid registration.
An official said that the drive was carried out to ensure public safety, maintain order and strengthen security measures at the tourist destination.
During the operation, 11 unregistered photographers were identified and detained under relevant provisions of Sections 126/170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

They were sensitised about the code of conduct to be followed while dealing with tourists, with emphasis on professionalism, lawful operation and courteous behaviour.
Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure and tourist-friendly environment and appealed to all service providers to obtain proper registration and strictly adhere to the law. It added that strict legal action will continue against violators in the interest of public safety and effective tourism management. (KNO)
