Srinagar, Oct 13: The self-help group engineer association held a protest in press enclave Srinagar today , demanding restoration of the 20 year old Aatmi nirbav scheme for SHG Engineers , which was scrapped in Aug last year .
President of SGH Engineers Syed Parvaiz said that the 20 year old Aatma Nirbav scheme for SHG Engineers was scrapped last year without the consent of stakeholders of the scheme.
“When we protested against the restoration of this scheme last year, LG Manoj Sinah initiated a committee under the chairmanship of Advisor Batnagar but unfortunately this scheme has not been restored till date,” he said.
We demand to restore the technocare scheme for SHG Engineers in which 15000 unemployed youth who are directly involved and almost 1 lakh unemployed youth who are indirectly involved under this scheme,” Parvaiz said.
The protesters said that it is a “shame on LG administration” as they have made a mess of Vikas and Aatnirbhav livelihood.
“We demand that the report submitted by a committee in GAD to LG Governor last year should be reviewed immediately to restore the scheme for SHG Engineers ,” the protesters said.
The protesters said that in case their demands won’t be met they will take a protest march towards the civil secretariat.
“We are already in contact with all unemployed youth whether it will be Aasha workers , Anganwadi workers or casual laborers and we jointly will protest and march towards civil secretariat,” they said.
